The college offers a range of courses in the B.Sc programme which includes Botany, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Statistics, Psychology, Zoology and Mathematics. The departments of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are the oldest and the best among them. The annual fee for the courses ranges between five thousand and seven thousand rupees.  

5) Jai Hind College

Established in 1948, Jai Hind College – the fifth college in our list of Best Colleges in Mumbai for Science, has a rich history and an excellent academic record. The college was founded by Sindhi refugees who came to India after the partition with the aim of setting up an institution that offers quality and affordable education. It began as a modest two-room college that only offered courses in the Arts stream, but it quickly expanded to offer Science in 1949 and Commerce in 1980. The college also boasts top-notch alumni including Chanda Kochhar, Ajay Piramal and Seema Rao, among a plethora of others. 

As mentioned above, the college offers a range of courses. The courses offered in the college are divided into two categories: Aided and Unaided. As the name suggests, aided courses are cheaper whereas Aided courses are expensive. Unaided courses include a B.Sc in IT and a B.Sc in Biotechnology. Aided courses in Science, on the other hand, include Botany, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Life Sciences, and Microbiology. 

Being affiliated with the University of Mumbai, the college follows the admission process of the university, which begins with a student filling out the Pre-Admission Online Registration Form. The college, being a Sindhi minority institute, offers reservations to Sindhis. However, for all the unaided (self-financed) courses, an applicant needs to appear for an entrance examination. 

The unaided courses of the college offer a better prospect of placement. In fact, the course on B.Sc IT is known for offering the highest packages in the college. However, that does not mean that the courses in pure sciences offer some less scope. These courses are taught by highly qualified teachers and open a plethora of opportunities for the students. 6) B.K Birla College Of Arts Science & Commerce

Established in 1972, B.K Birla College Of Arts Science & Commerce occupies the sixth entry in our list of Best Colleges in Mumbai for Science and is named after B.K. Birla, a famous industrialist. The college is also affiliated with the University of Mumbai. It is located in Kalyan and boasts a strength of more than 12000 students.

7) Ramnarain Ruia Autonomous College
