Important points about Bihar SI and Bihar SI Syllabus
The following important points about Bihar Si and Bihar SI Syllabus 2024 must be kept in mind if you are appearing for the exam.
- The Bihar SI exam is conducted in three phases- Preliminary, Mains and PET.
- Each phase has its own syllabus and exam pattern that a candidate must be aware of to score good marks
- The preliminary exam will consist of 100 questions. Each question will be of 2 marks. Hence maximum mark will be 200
- The time Duration for the Preliminary Exam will be 2 Hours
- There will be a negative marking of 0.2 marks for each wrong answer in Prelims
- The questions asked in Pelims are based on General Knowledge and Current Affairs.
- The Mains exam will be of written objective type
- The Mains written examination will consist of two papers. The time given in each paper will be 2 hours.
- In Paper – I, the General Hindi section will have 100 questions and each question will carry 2 marks. It is just a qualifying paper
- Paper – II will consist of 100 questions, carrying 2 marks each.
- After a candidate clears Mains, he is further eligible for the second phase of the selection process consisting of the Physical Eligibility Test (PET),. The total number of students who qualify for PET is six times the vacancy. That means that every one in six students who qualifies for PET is finally selected.
- Transparent procedures are followed and videography is used to record the results of tests. Any candidate unsatisfied with the process can raise formal objections within three days.
- After the PET, the category-wise final merit list is released by the BPSSC on its website.
About BPSSC
The Bihar Police Subordinate Services Commission is a government body which comes under the Home Department of the Bihar Government. It is tasked with recruiting for Sub-Inspector post in Bihar Police. The commission was established in 2016 by the Bihar Police Sub-ordinate Services Commission Act, 2016. It has since conducted multiple recruitment drives for the selection of suitable candidates for the post of Sub-Inspector in Bihar Police. It also trains the recruits before they are allotted their posts. The current pattern of recruitment to the post of Sub-Inspector started in 2017 when the Bihar Police Manual, 1978 was amended.
