The counselling process of CUET UG will begin as soon as the CUET UG Results are released. The counselling will take place according to the vacancy in a college. The participating colleges will declare a CUET Spot Counselling based on the number of open seats. Then, these colleges will release the merit lists of respective courses.
Usually, there are three merit lists in each course that are released prior to the final admission. Candidates who receive a seat in their desired college can book the seat. After that, the students will be required to get their documents verified to get admitted.
Initially known as the Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET), the CUET stands for Common University Entrance Test. It is a test conducted by the National Testing Agency for admission into various undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Central Universities. CUET began in 2022.
Since it was launched, CUET has become an important part of the Indian education system. Envisioned in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the CUET is the sole test that the Central Universities accept while granting admission to prospective students. However, not all universities are currently under the ambit of CUET. The original plan in the NEP was to admit all students throughout the country solely based on their scores in the CUET, similar to the engineering exams of IIT JEE Mains and Advanced. However, that didn’t work out very well.
CUET is conducted at three levels: CUET (UG), CUET (PG) AND CUET(PhD). Some important features of the test are as follows:
