Gujarat Teacher’s Aptitude Test is a competitive exam for the jobs of teachers in Gujarat’s government schools. The Gujarat State Examination Board (GSEB) is responsible for the administration of the TAT exam.
The Candidates who pass the TAT Exam are issued a TAT Certificate by the Government of Gujrat’s State Examination Board. The TAT Exam Certificate expires in 5 years. Before the expiration, the candidates have to apply and get selected for any post of teacher.
The Gujarat TAT Exam is conducted in two steps: Preliminary and Mains. Depending on the subject they desire to teach, the exam evaluates candidates’ aptitude and expertise in various areas.
The Gujarat TAT Preliminary exam consists of two papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2.
Paper 1 consists of 100 questions. Each question carries 1 mark and each wrong answer has a negative of 0.25 marks. The Preliminary exam is conducted in three languages: English, Hindi and Gujarati. The division of marks based on the topics is given below:

Paper 2 consists of questions on the subject that the candidate has opted for. Paper 2 consists of 100 questions and each question carries 1 mark with a negative marking of 0.25 numbers per wrong answer. The exam is conducted in Gujarati, English and Hindi.
The Gujarat TAT Mains Exam is held in descriptive format. It consists of two papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 consists of Report Writing, A Report writing on Image (Visual Information) and a Formal Speech. Paper 2 consists of questions to be answered in a descriptive manner.
