As per the notification, the Preliminary and Main exam for the Common Recruitment Process for personnel selection for Probationary Officer/ Management Trainee posts in the Participating Banks is tentatively scheduled for September-October 2023.

IBPS PO stands for Institute of Banking Personnel Selection Probationary Officer. It is a prestigious and highly sought-after annual exam for the selection of suitable candidates for the post of Probationary Officer/Management Trainee. All the major public sector banks participate in the selection process except SBI. A total of 11 banks [participate in the process.
The exam aims to fill the vacancies in participating banks with qualified and skilled candidates. The selection process consists of two rounds of examination – Preliminary and Main. The candidates who qualify for both the Pre and Mains Exam are then required to appear for the interview.

IBPS stands for Institute of Banking Personnel Selection. It is an entity which falls under the Union Government’s Finance Ministry. It was formed in 1975 with the aim of providing recruitment services to the nationalised banks and Financial Institutions (including NBFCs) for its Group A, Group B, Group C and Group D posts. It conducts various exams for the recruitment of staff for the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), National Bank of Rural Development (NABARD), State Bank of India (SBI), GIC Housing Finance, Bank of Baroda (BOB), Punjab National Bank (PNB), Union Bank of India, etc.
The exams it conducts for recruitment of staff are IBPS-PO (Probationary Officer), IBPS-SO (Specialist Officer), IBPS Clerk, IBPS RRB (Regional Rural Banks) Officer Scale-I, IBPS RRB Office Assistant, and IBPS RRB Officer Scale-II and Scale-III.
