About MPPSC

MPPSC stands for Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission. It was established by the States Reorganisation Act of 1956, which also created the state of Madhya Pradesh. Like all provincial service commissions, MPPSC plays an important role in the functioning of the state. Its main tasks are: (i) to successfully conduct the recruitment of civil servants (ii) to promote civil servants of the state according to their seniority and performance and (iii) to transfer civil servants of the state as per orders from the government. Other matters related to civil servants such as classification and conditions of service, management of the civil servants and regulation of their remuneration are handled by the State Government’s Department of Personnel and Training.

The Commission consists of a Chairperson and other members appointed by the Governor upon being recommended by the Cabinet. The commission and its members enjoy a high degree of autonomy. The Chairperson, though appointed by the State Governor, can be removed by the President only. Moreover, all the expenses, allowances and salaries of the Chairperson are charged from the State’s Consolidated Fund, thus additionally providing for the autonomy. Also, the Chairperson of the commission is not eligible for reappointment in the State. However, he/she is eligible for appointment to the State Service Commission of another state or as a member or the Chairperson of the Union Public Service Commission.

MPPSC is responsible for holding state-level civil services examinations in Madhya Pradesh. It is in charge of conducting several civil service examinations to find applicants for various administrative jobs in the Madhya Pradesh state government, including the State Service Examination, Forest Service Examination, State Engineering Service Examination, and others. A preliminary exam, a main exam, and an interview round make up the MPPSC exam selection procedure. Applicants are assigned to the appropriate posts if they pass all three phases of the selection procedure.

The MPPSC acts as the torch-bearer of merit in the state of Madhya Pradesh. It also provides consultations to the State Government regarding policies and practices of the state’s civil servants. Moreover, its functions are subject to change; the state legislature can pass a law assigning a task to the commission. The commission is also required to present an annual report to the State Governor highlighting the state and progress of the commission.

The MPPSC jobs are considered of high stature and prestigious. Thus, we highly recommend that you apply for MPPSC Principal/Director Recruitment 2023 if you are looking to give a boost to your professional career. Don’t forget to apply for the MPPSC Principal/Director Recruitment 2023 before the last date.
